What is Rain Water Harvesting ?

Rainwater harvesting is a technology used for collecting and storing rainwater from rooftops, land surface or rock catchments using simple techniques such as jars and pots as well as more complex water harvesting methods such as shaft borewells, dug wells, injection tubewells, ponds,waterwells and check dams.

• Identification of proper locations for construction of rainwater harvesting system for groundwater Recharge.
• Calculations for runoff generation at different points of various blocks/sheds, paved & grassy areas
• Carrying out short duration pumping test in existing well and calculation of aquifer parameters.
• Conducting geophysical survey & hydrogeological survey at different locations within the project area for identification of groundwater potential zone including taking Vertical Electrical Sounding by VLF and MPSSR-ATS.
• Preparation of contour map of reduced water table, water quality distribution and suggestion of locations for groundwater recharge potential with calculation of runoff generation at various points blocks/sheds, paved area and grassy area.
• Hydrogeological Survey to collect information on water table and groundwater conditions of the area. Identification of zones to be recharged & interpretation of meteorological data to know the intensity of rainfall and average annual rainfall.
• Preparation & submission of detailed report, design and submission of drawings for construction of water harvesting strucuture.
• All required statutory clearances required for installing rainwater harvesting system.
